As part of our Literacy rotations, 6J had a learning focus of understanding sequence. We talked about when and where we use sequencing in real life situations.
We discussed that understanding the sequence of events is very important when baking a cake, when following directions or when creating a narrative story.
All the students worked in groups with cards that had been jumbled up from the story ‘the three little pigs”. There was a lot of rich conversation between groups discussing the reasoning behind places the cards in a certain order. Many different opinions were shared and the leaders led the discussion well. It was great to see the enthusiasm shown by the students and the reflection from the leaders was brilliant.
Thanks for a great lesson!
