Well done to Jordan, Lucy, Tara, Taku and Cody (absent) who are our Students of the Week. They will be presented at assembly this afternoon.
Your task this week is to set yourself 3 healthy lifestyle challenges. Record what you aim to achieve in your homework book and then try your best to do them each day. For example, drink 1 litre of water per day, exercise for 30 minutes per day, do 10 minutes of meditation/relaxation per day etc. You will also need to reflect about how you went with your challenges in a paragraph before you hand in your homework book.
Today is the final day to hand in camp parent helper forms so if you’d like to assist with your child’s camp please ensure the form is brought back this morning.
Just letting you know that the District Athletics is cancelled tomorrow due to unsafe track conditions. At this stage it is looking like being rescheduled for Tuesday the 15th of September but this is still subject to change.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Today 30 lucky students from grade 5 and 6 were taken on a guided tour of Parliament House and had a mock debate in the chamber led by Brad Battin, our local member for Gembrook. We felt very special as Brad took us to many places that the public are not normally allowed to go such as the members room of the library, Brad’s office and the liberal and national parties meeting room. We learnt about the history of government in Victoria, the role of different ministers, as well as how bills are passed in both chambers of parliament.
Last Friday a note went home regarding our three way student-led interviews coming up in Week 9 (7th to 10th of September). When you get the chance please go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the school event code V38DQ to book a time with your child’s teacher. We would love to have interviews with everyone so if there are no times available that suit you, please contact your child’s teacher directly to arrange an alternate time.

Your task this week is to prepare a meal for your family. This may include making sandwiches in the morning for everyone’s lunch that day, setting the table and getting out the appropriate items for breakfast or cooking dinner for the family. You will need to write the recipe/procedure in your homework book and then record what your family thought of it. You may even like to get them to give you a score out of 10 like Masterchef.
