Yesterday we had our Sports Day at Beaconsfield Primary School where students dressed up in sports gear and brought in silver coins to raise money for the CHIPS organisation. We finished the day with a Teachers and Parents Vs Grade 6’s footy match which was a terrific spectacle. It was a tight tussle all day but the Teachers and Parents Team held on to win by 1 point in the end! A massive thanks to the parents who came along and participated in the match, as well as our Grade 6 SRC members who organised a large part of the day and helped raise over $1300 for CHIPS!

Last night we had 3 students represent our school at the Lions Club public speaking competition. All 3 students did extremely well presenting their speech on a natural disaster in front of their parents, teachers and the lions club. Well done Jack, Rhiannon and Charlotte.
Today our 5/6 students had the opportunity to participate in our Design Technology Incursion where they created their very own cushion! After receiving the design brief first thing in the morning, the students were required to carefully plan out how they wanted their cushion to look and then later in the day put it together using calico, pastels, crayons, needles and thread. As you’ll see in the video below, the results were fantastic!
A big thanks to all the grandparents and special friends who came along and spent some time with us today. We hope you enjoyed spending time at our school, as well as the delicious scones!

Just a reminder that our Sports Day is on tomorrow. You are welcome to wear any type of sports clothing to help celebrate the day (this could include any team jerseys such as football, netball, basketball, etc or just clothes that you might exercise in).
Please remember to bring silver coins along to contribute to your grade’s silver coin line and donate to the CHIPS program.
Today we braced the conditions and travelled to Casey Fields for the District Athletics. All students did Beacy proud with their effort and sportsmanship, resulting in an overall finish of 2nd place for our school. Congratulations to everyone who represented our school and well done to those who are moving onto Division.
Well done to Summer, Jasmine, Angel (abs), Ryan (abs) and Sabrina (abs) who are our Students of the Week.
