Today the Grade 5’s had a visit from the Tiger Paws (Richmond Football Club volunteers) where they participated in two sessions revolved around physical activity and nutrition. The physical activity component involved the students learning about running mechanics and then practising these different techniques through timing gates, as well as learning a few football skills. The nutrition session saw the students learning about the three major macronutrients and how we can incorporate these in a balanced, healthy meal. The students were allowed to eat a variety of different nutrients, practice preparing their own meals and learn about good hygiene practices.
No need to make lunches for the kids anymore parents! The grade 5’s now have all the knowledge they need to stay fit and healthy.
Thankyou to the Tiger Paws program for a very enjoyable day.
